Behind House Samuel was an old dilapidated building, which originally served as the stables for Andrew Murray’s horses. The building was later changed into outside rooms. Our architect realised that it could be transformed into a chapel, and in this way the humblest building on the premises became the heart of the Spirituality Centre.
The rear of the building has a beautiful view of the garden and the mountains. We decided to make the most of the view with a glass façade that faces east in the direction of the rising sun to remind us of the risen Christ and the hope that lies in Him. It later became necessary to incorporate support into the façade and a cross was included in the design. In this way, the chapel constantly reminds us of Christ, the risen crucified Lord.
