The Work Group for Equipment and Research announced with gratitude the appointment of Prof. Elna Mouton as the first chapel master of the Andrew Murray Centre for Spirituality (AMCS) from 1 February 2019. She will live on the premises in House Louise. Prof. Mouton retired at the end of 2017 as a lecturer in the New Testament at the Theology Faculty at Stellenbosch University. She was the first female lecturer there and also the first (and still the only) female dean of the faculty.

Frederick Marais, chair of the AMCS management council, writes:

“One can’t help but see the hand of God in this. Not only did Elna live in House Samuel as a student, but she also did ground-breaking work in her academic career to further the development of spirituality among students.”
